Tonight marks the official kickoff of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in France, and the event’s iconic red carpet is already shining with star power. The festival’s opening ceremony took place at the Grand Théâtre Lumière, hosted by French-Malian actress Eye Haïdara. The ceremony introduced this year’s esteemed jury, led by Park Chan-wook—the first Korean jury president in Cannes history—joined by stars like Demi Moore, Ruth Negga, Laura Wandel, Chloé Zhao, Diego Céspedes, Isaach De Bankolé, Paul Laverty, and Stellan Skarsgård.
The event culminated with a performance by Theodora and Oklou, followed by the screening of the opening film, The Electric Venus by Pierre Salvadori.
