Cristiano Ronaldo, famously associated with the number seven, and Georgina Rodríguez chose a deeply personal moment to tie the knot—on August 11, the 10th anniversary of their first meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid. They opted for a private, intimate wedding in their new home in Cascais, Portugal, a place they’ve called perfect since acquiring it in July, a date that also holds special significance as the seventh month of the year, symbolizing their shared love for the number seven.
The wedding was not a grand spectacle but a heartfelt celebration in their living room, surrounded by family and their children. Georgina, who has a passion for meaningful jewelry, plans to wear an enormous oval-cut diamond engagement ring and a stunning D-flawless 50-carat diamond necklace from Chopard—an expression of her luxurious yet personal style. She describes her wedding vision as simple yet profound: “I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home. Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars—those are all within reach. But real intimacy—that’s the most special thing.”
The choice of venue for the wedding is because of their intention to make the whole thing authentic and real. Georgina stresses on the fact that the place where they will tie the knot, where they spend their day-to-day lives, is the place full of memories. Though wealthy in terms of monetary matters, Georgina holds on to sentimental things like a 15-year-old treadmill.

A Love Story That Began at Gucci
Cristiano and Georgina’s love story began unexpectedly in Madrid in 2016, when she was working as a Gucci store assistant and he was shopping with his son. Their eyes met, and the rest is history—marked by the birth of their children, twin boys Eva and Mateo, daughter Alana, and twins Bella and Ángel, with Bella being the only survivor of the latter set.
For their wedding attire, they will wear Gucci, a brand that signifies their story’s beginning. Georgina recently received her elegant white silk faille skirt suit and satin shoes with signature silver horsebit details, while Cristiano’s tailored light beige cotton suit and matching loafers are arriving soon. Their children will also be dressed in coordinating Gucci outfits, emphasizing family unity.
The wedding will be captured artistically by Juergen Teller, known for his stark, artful photography, ensuring their memories are preserved as timeless art rather than traditional family photos. After the ceremony, they plan to visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima for a blessing—Cristiano prefers quiet, crowd-free places to keep their moment sacred.
There’s no honeymoon planned; Cristiano is set to start his season in Saudi Arabia shortly after. Yet, both Cristiano and Georgina see their wedding as a daily celebration—every day with each other is a honeymoon, they say. Their wedding encapsulates a profound love story rooted in simplicity, family, and shared dreams, set against the backdrop of their beautiful Portuguese home.
