
Farfetch's latest index, predicting the luxury wardrobe trends for 2026, draws on sales data projected through 2025, along with global search volumes. The report discusses a lot on how the world is shifting towards "wearable luxury," meaning items that are not only culturally relevant but are also functional for everyday life.
The Adidas Samba was the most searched shoe worldwide, with more than 52.3 million searches.This illustrates the shoe's evolution, from its roots in athletics to its current status as a luxury item. The New Balance 9060 followed closely behind, garnering nearly 48 million searches, a clear indication of the public's fascination with its distinctive, tech-driven midsoles.
Other popular shoes include the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 and the Maison Margiela Replica.The Moncler Maya jacket was the most searched for clothing item, with over 1.1 million searches. It is known for its high-gloss finish and functional down filling.The Max Mara Teddy Coat was still a key investment piece, along with "quiet luxury" basics like the Ami de Coeur T-Shirt from Ami Paris and the Comme des Garçons Play Heart-Patch T-Shirt.
Practical luxury was the most popular type of accessory.The Longchamp Le Pliage was the most searched-for bag, with more than two million searches. People liked it because it was light and could be folded up. The Coach Tabby and Marc Jacobs The Tote were next. Prada's Symbole sunglasses were the most popular, followed by Tom Ford's Bronson sunglasses. Both were praised for their architectural, face-framing design.
Doralice Belli, who is in charge of merchandising at Farfetch, said that these products work because they don't take away from personal style; they add to it. The Index says that the most popular luxury items in 2026 will be those that fit in well with work, travel, and leisure clothes.
