The couple’s love story began with an instant connection. JuJu recalled thinking, “First time seeing her, I said, ‘Wow, you are so beautiful,’” while Laura described him as her “best friend ever since.” Their relationship quickly blossomed, leading JuJu to plan a romantic proposal during a vacation in Nantucket on September 7, 2023. As the pair admired the sunset near a lighthouse, he knelt down and asked what he called “the most important question I’d ever ask.”
When it came time to plan their wedding, the couple wanted every detail to represent their journey together. JuJu joked that he became “a great team player” by helping choose the DJ, while Laura, alongside wedding planner Audrey Wood, oversaw the remaining details. Laura selected a Steven Khalil mermaid-style gown featuring intricate lace and a ruched tulle overlay, accessorizing with a classic veil, diamond studs, and a tennis bracelet. The wedding festivities began with a Hawaiian-themed beach welcome party in Laguna Niguel, celebrating JuJu’s Samoan heritage with tropical cocktails and performances by Polynesian dancers. Laura later described the flower-filled oceanfront ceremony as “the ceremony of my dreams,” while JuJu said seeing her walk down the aisle confirmed she was “the woman I prayed for.”
