Elsa Schiaparelli may not be as well-known as Coco Chanel or Christian Dior, but she had just as big of an effect on fashion. Now, London's Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) is giving her the attention she deserves.
The new show, "Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art," will be open from March 28 to November 8. It provides great detail about the history of Maison Schiaparelli and how she revolutionized fashion by adding art, performance, and surrealism to it. Her work was not just about clothing; it was about challenging the possibilities of fashion.

The exhibition features more than 400 pieces, including 100 outfits and 50 pieces of art. It will take you on a journey to experience the creative world of Schiaparelli. It has everything from jewelry and accessories to paintings and furniture. It also includes perfumes and rare artifacts from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Schiaparelli's archives.
The exhibition has been curated by Sonnet Stanfill, Lydia Caston, and Rosalind McKever. The exhibition will cover the period from the 1920s until the present day. The exhibition will also show the innovative work of the past and how it is applicable in the present day by also showcasing the work of the current creative director, Daniel Roseberry.

The famous
The exhibition also connects the past with the present by ending with dramatic modern looks worn by stars like Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa, which have been designed by Roseberry. Schiaparelli did not just make clothes; she also made fashion a place for ideas, imagination, and the extraordinary, according to V&A director Tristram Hunt.
