Ukrainian Fashion Week returned with its Autumn/Winter 2026/27 edition in Kyiv, taking place from March 12 to 15 under challenging conditions. Ongoing attacks on energy infrastructure and resulting disruptions to power and heating impacted the event, yet it continued to assert its presence as a key cultural platform.
Since its comeback in September 2024, the event has been taking place in an atmosphere of global unease, but it has proved to be a symbol of resilience, showing that fashion is beyond aesthetics. It is a cultural and economic phenomenon, deeply embedded in the fabric of Ukrainian culture.
Founder and CEO Iryna Danylevska emphasized that this season would be marked not by obstacles, but by the unshakable faith in Ukrainian fashion and its philosophy.

The theme of identity, whether it be national, individual, or brand, has become one of the key ideas in the event. In addition to this, another important theme has been sustainability and textile innovations.
Under the title “Art of Fashion,” there has also been an exhibition that has included innovations in terms of artistic techniques, sustainability, and innovations in materials. Designers like Bevza, J’aemme, Kseniaschnaider, Litkovska, Nadya Dzyak, and many others have showcased their works that reflect a forward-thinking but also deeply rooted philosophy.
These projects showed how Ukrainian designers are blending tradition and innovation, redefining fashion as a means of storytelling and cultural preservation.

The theme of sustainability was not just limited to an idea but was reflected in several design philosophies. For example, brands like Upslowuse and St. Mariia reflected themes like upcycling and zero waste as part of their design philosophies. This reflects the role of materials as carriers of cultural and historical significance.
The themes of design included transformation, layering, reinterpretation, where clothing was used to convey themes like time and self. For example, the Upslowuse collection, titled "Liminal," incorporated influences from Ukrainian folklore and demonology to give the designs more conceptual significance, emphasizing concepts like transition and tension.
Ukrainian Fashion Week, through these concepts, not only addressed the idea of sustainability as an environmental practice but as a cultural and philosophical one, emphasizing the role of fashion as something that is evolving and changing with the times.
