Zara Unveils ‘Vatisimo’ Collaboration with Willy Chavarria

Zara, a Spanish clothing store that is part of Inditex, has teamed up with New York-based designer Willy Chavarria. The name of the collection is "Vatisimo," and it has to do with culture, identity, and the influence of fashion around the world. The name comes from the superlative form of "vato," which is a word that Chicanos use to talk about close friends and family. It means unity, friendship, and connection.

The collection is deeply rooted in Chavarria’s heritage and aims to bring his cultural perspective to a broader international audience while maintaining authenticity and creative integrity.

The ready-to-wear collection features apparel, footwear, accessories, and jewelry designed for everyone. It showcases Chavarria's distinctive aesthetic, characterized by striking tailoring, defined silhouettes, and premium materials. These include Italian fabrics, leather, cupro, denim, knits, and jerseys.

Structured pencil skirts, wide-leg shorts with precise lines, and relaxed tailoring are key elements. Also, consider denim shirt dresses, floral blouses, and silk slip dresses.The collection also includes graphic T-shirts, hoodies, and leather items like belts and bags that tell stories about different cultures through fashion.

Zara says that "Vatisimo" is a celebration of dignity, visibility, and individuality that shows a modern take on Chicano identity through fashion. The designs also take ideas from American workwear and vintage leisurewear, making a one-of-a-kind mix of old and new styles.

On March 26, the collection will be available in some stores and online around the world. This partnership comes after Zara announced a two-year creative partnership with designer John Galliano. His first collection for the brand is set to come out in September 2026. This will make Zara even more involved in high-concept fashion collaborations.
